Under the directive of the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, efforts are being made to ensure citizens have the right to live in a healthy and safe environment, improve land use, and create opportunities for urban development. As part of this initiative, garages in 188 locations are being dismantled and land cleared. These cleared areas are being repurposed for citizen-friendly infrastructure.
Specifically, international standard 3×3 basketball courts were planned for the 9 districts of Ulaanbaatar. Construction is now complete on two courts in Baganuur District, two in Nalaikh District, and five in Bayanzurkh District, totalling nine basketball courts.
The project was funded by the capital city budget, implemented by the City Landscaping Department, and supervised by the Capital Ciy Investment Agency.
