Pedestrian Walkway and Public Space Improvement Works Intensified

The Ulaanbaatar City Investment Agency recently carried out on-site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of public pedestrian walkway and public space improvement projects across the city.

A total of 170,529 square meters of pedestrian walkway rehabilitation and public space improvement works were planned at 17 locations throughout Ulaanbaatar. Last year, works covering 47,819 square meters at five locations were successfully completed and commissioned.

This year, rehabilitation and improvement works are underway at 12 locations, covering a total area of 122,710 square meters. As of today, 82,828 square meters have been completed, representing 68 percent of the planned work.

Current construction is being carried out along the following sections:

  • from the Geological Central Laboratory Intersection to the Officers’ Palace Roundabout;
  • on both the northern and southern sides of the road from the eastern end of Yarmag Bridge to the APU LLC Intersection;
  • on both sides of the road from the APU LLC Intersection to the Central Post Office Intersection; and
  • along the western side of the road from Marshal Bridge to the Central Tower Intersection.

During the inspection, Director M. Govisaihan instructed the contractors and supervising engineers to promptly rectify the identified deficiencies and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality infrastructure that provides a safe, accessible, and comfortable environment for residents.
