Construction of a 320-Seat School Underway in Sukhbaatar District’s 16th Khoroo

Construction of a 320-seat general education school is currently underway in the 16th khoroo of Sukhbaatar District, with the aim of expanding access to education and providing children with a safe, comfortable learning environment closer to their homes.

Construction of the school began in 2019 with funding from the state budget. However, progress was delayed after the project implementation company suspended construction works. In 2026, a new contractor was selected through a competitive procurement process, and construction resumed.

Arvin Urguu LLC was selected as the contractor, while the Ulaanbaatar City Investment Agency is carrying out client-side supervision of the project. Efforts are underway to complete the construction and put the school into permanent operation during the current academic year.

The completion of the new school is expected to expand access to education for children living in the 16th khoroo of Sukhbaatar District, reduce the burden of travelling long distances to school, and improve the accessibility of educational services in the area.

M. Govisaihan, Director of the Ulaanbaatar City Investment Agency, emphasized the importance of the project and stated that the Agency will continue to closely supervise construction quality, compliance with technological requirements, approved design documentation, and applicable norms and standards. Particular attention will be paid to ensuring that the school is completed and commissioned in accordance with the requirements for a healthy and safe learning environment for children.
